About us

The need for professional pilot training and well-trained aviation personnel is growing, all over the world. In Africa more and more questions are raised concerning safety and security of Flight Operations. Therefore Sabena Flight Academy, together with local partners, has launched an Airline Standard Aviation Academy in Douala, Cameroon: Sabena Flight Academy Africa. Starting in Cameroon, SFA Africa aims to become the leading high quality Flight Academy on the African continent. A completely new infrastructure has been erected to welcome SFA to Cameroon and to create the perfect set-up to start professional aviation school activities.Combining local expertise and excellent government support with Sabena Flight Academy's flight training experience, Sabena Flight Academy Africa is ready to welcome its first students.

The Programs

In order to cover different airlines' needs SFA Africa will start operations with the following programs:

  1. Ab-initio integrated pilot training (ATPL): SFA's current JAA-program, as approved by Belgian and Cameroon Civil Aviation Authorities. This program consists of the following parts:

    • Ground school in Douala, Cameroon
    • Flight training in SFA's Flight Training Center SATC in Arizona, USA
    • An extended MCC course on B737, A320, ... in Brussels, Belgium
    • All official examinations will be done by BCAA, Belgian Civil Aviation Authorities

  2. Flight Dispatcher training, as approved by the, CCAA, Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority

  3. Ab-initio Flight Attendant training, as approved by the CCAA, Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority

  4. Recurrent training for flight dispatcher and flight attendant

  5. Other Courses:

    • Cockpit Resource Management Course
    • Dangerous Goods Course
    • Security Course
